JOB VACANCY – SESSIONAL YOUTH WORKER Bethel Presbyterian Church, Garden Village, Wrexham Duties include: Attending, supervising and organising two groups on a Thursday night, term time. The first group is for juniors aged approximately 7 ‑ 11 between 6 and 7.15 p.m.; the second group is for senior club aged 11+ and meeting between 7.30 and 9 p.m. You will need to arrive 15 minutes before the junior session and leave 15 minutes after the close of the senior session or when all members of the club have left the premises. You will need to prepare materials, speakers and activities for the two group sessions. You will have adult helpers but they will not be the same ones consistently. The activities, whilst needing to be stimulating and enjoyable, must take into account Christian values and all sessions should be clearly imbued with this by having a short prayer, 'thought for the day’ aspect etc. A small group of Church members and elders will discuss your programme with you and organise your adult support helpers. You need to complete a CRB check as soon as possible through the Presbyterian Church. Payment will be on a 41/2‑hour evening basis, taking account of attendance and preparation time. The payment will be by negotiation. Any additional expenditure will be repaid on presentation of receipts. This may include drinks and biscuits, paper etc. In many cases the Church will provide these. There are usually about 10 - 15 youngsters at each group session. They are friendly exuberant and enjoy attending. At times you will need to discipline them with firmness, friendliness and respect. In the case of activities taking place off the Church premises, you will need to obtain the written consent of their parents to attend the activity planned. Knowledge of basic first aid would be useful. Contact: Glyn Williams, Church Secretary _____________________________________________________________________________________________________

AWESOME! http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=ee73e63418003b47d7d5
A skit performed at the 2006 annual Smoky
Mountain Winterfest event held every year near Gatlinburg, Tenn., has taken the
video websites YouTube and GodTube by storm. The skit depicts a soul
straying and desperately returning to Christ after being caught up by the sins
of sexual impurity, the party lifestyle, bulimia, self-mutilation and deception
that leads toward suicide. Christ, with loving power, fights the darkness
and rescues the young woman out of her bondage. Written by mission
director Tim Houston from Baltimore, Md., the video
communicates the message that we don’t have to be lost without hope in our sins,
separated from Christ. The authenticity of that To view the video, click on the link above or log onto www.youtube.com and search “Lifehouse skit.” The video may also be viewed on www.GodTube.com. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
