FRIDAY 4TH JULY 9.30AM – 8.00PM ALPHA FOR PRISONS and CARING FOR EX-OFFENDERS MENTOR TRAINING PROGRAMME - for all NORTH WALES CHURCHES This is a key training seminar for people who work with or who want to work with ex-offenders Alpha runs the Alpha course in prisons all over the world and many of the inmates become Christians while they are inside prison When these new Christians have finished their sentences and are released back into society many of them are daunted at the prospect of going to church as they have usually had very little or no experience at all of church prior to being sentenced so there is a great need for Christians who are established in a church to come alongside individual ex-offenders to help them to integrate into church life and also help them to cope with integrating back into society in general. Mentoring should not encroach on the Mentor's personal or spiritual life in any way and the Mentor Training Programme has been designed to train Christians to mentor ex-offenders in such a way so that everyone benefits. Mentors become a role model for ex-offenders.
