VACANCY FOR OFFICE MANAGER @ THE WELL CENTRE, STATION ROAD, PONTNEWYDD, CWMBRAN, NP44 1NZ

The trustees of The Well Centre seek a Christian Office Manager, to join a growing team. The suitable applicant should be able to:-
¨ Share in their ministry
¨ Take care of all who come to The Well
¨ Manage and communicate with a UK wide list of ministering contacts
¨ Host courses, events and bookstalls
¨ Arrange events and appointments
¨ Manage all aspects of office life
¨ Build and maintain databases for fundraising and general circulation
Suitable applicants:-
Must have good interpersonal skills and initiative, IT skills, be able to pray with others on the phone, and to keep simple records of accounting
The successful applicant will have an outgoing nature and be able to make time available for attending training courses and conferences when necessary. They will have their own car, a valid UK driving licence, and be prepared to travel reasonable distances with their work
Hours:-
20 hours per week-this may increase from time to time, depending on the needs of the ministry

JOB VACANCY – SESSIONAL YOUTH WORKER

Bethel Presbyterian Church, Garden Village, Wrexham

Duties include:

Attending, supervising and organising two groups on a Thursday night, term time. The first group is for juniors aged approximately 7 ‑ 11 between 6 and 7.15 p.m.; the second group is for senior club aged 11+ and meeting between 7.30 and 9 p.m.

You will need to arrive 15 minutes before the junior session and leave 15 minutes after the close of the senior session or when all members of the club have left the premises.

You will need to prepare materials, speakers and activities for the two group sessions. You will have adult helpers but they will not be the same ones consistently.

The activities, whilst needing to be stimulating and enjoyable, must take into account Christian values and all sessions should be clearly imbued with this by having a short prayer, 'thought for the day’ aspect etc.

A small group of Church members and elders will discuss your programme with you and organise your adult support helpers.

You need to complete a CRB check as soon as possible through the Presbyterian Church.

Payment will be on a 41/2‑hour evening basis, taking account of attendance and preparation time. The payment will be by negotiation.

Any additional expenditure will be repaid on presentation of receipts. This may include drinks and biscuits, paper etc. In many cases the Church will provide these.

There are usually about 10 - 15 youngsters at each group session. They are friendly exuberant and enjoy attending. At times you will need to discipline them with firmness, friendliness and respect.

In the case of activities taking place off the Church premises, you will need to obtain the written consent of their parents to attend the activity planned.

Knowledge of basic first aid would be useful.

THE WREXHAM PAROCHIAL EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WREXHAM PARISH COUNCIL

CHILDREN'S OFFICER FOR WREXHAM

Full time

Salary: £18,000 per annum (or stipend and housing package)

Job Purpose:

To enhance the Church's mission and ministry among children under 11 by:

*           supporting the provision of Collective Worship in the primary schools of the parish and foundation;

*           providing support and training for the leaders of the current 5 Sunday Schools, 4 mid-week clubs, holiday clubs etc;

*           promoting the development of new work and worship with children;

*           being the parish's Child Protection Officer;

working collaboratively with:

the County Religious Education Adviser, the Anglican clergy team, the Parish Council, local ecumenical bodies, community children's workers and the diocesan under 25s officer.

The Person will have:

Essential:

*           membership of a mainstream Christian denomination

*           enthusiasm for the Gospel and for children

*           experience of working with children

*           knowledge of current resources and good practice

*           ability to work as a member of a team and independently

Desirable:

*           a qualification in children's work

*           experience of working with adults

*           a willingness to undergo further training

Pay and conditions:

*           Salary of £18,000 (or stipend of approx. £12,000 plus a 2/3 bedroom house); pension contribution, water charges, council tax etc negotiable

*           Office space and up to £5,500 p.a. for resources and expenses

*           The Children's Officer is a full member of the 'clergy' Team; a sub-committee of the Parish Council provides management and support (including spiritual and career development); the Rector conducts an annual review; an annual report is made to the Parish Council and/or the Foundation
